MIT Researchers Demonstrate Rapid 3D Printing with Liquid Metal

MIT researchers have developed an additive manufacturing technique that can print rapidly with liquid metal, producing large-scale parts like table legs and chair frames in a matter of minutes.

Air Force grants Youngstown State University $1.9M toward Hybrid Manufacturing

Youngstown State University has been awarded $1.9 million through America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (driven by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining), and the Air Force Research Laboratory to investigate the repair process for tooling using an additive/subtractive (hybrid) process technology.

Surgeons at University Hospital Southampton Developed a 3D-Printed Liver Models to Plan Complex Cancer Surgery

Surgeons at University Hospital Southampton have introduced an innovative approach to complex cancer surgery by utilizing 3D printed models of patients’ liver. This groundbreaking technique, supported by the Planets Cancer Charity, involves the creation of customized models based on CT and MRI scans of individuals diagnosed with hilar cholangiocarcinoma, a form of bile duct cancer.

Addup Partners With The Swiss Steel Group (SSG) To Introduce A New Material Optimized For Injection Molding Applications In Additive Manufacturing

AddUp will soon be releasing a unique tool steel optimized for injection molding that meets all customer requirements.  The newly developed Printdur HCT was developed by Swiss Steel Group based on the conventional standard tool steel 1.2083 / AISI420 tailored for additive manufacturing with focus on Powder Bed Fusion machines

PartsToGo Scales Additive Manufacturing Capabilities with Addition of Stratasys SLA Solutions

Stratasys Ltd. announced that German service bureau PartsToGo has invested in another four stereolithography (SLA) printers. They selected three Neo800 printers and one Neo450 to complement their existing Neo450 and Neo800 to produce high-quality, accurate and repeatable parts for their customers’ industrial-level application needs.

Austrian startup Revo Foods has presented a new 3D food printing process for industrial applications for the first time. Featuring a novel multi-nozzle system, this innovation enables continuous food production, marking the first time that mass production of products is possible with 3D food printing technology.
