Indian government aims to add USD 3Bn to GDP through 3D printing

The Indian government intends to gain 5% of the worldwide market share in additive manufacturing or 3D printing, with the goal of adding about USD 2-3 billion to the GDP over the next 2-3 years.

ISO launches Additive manufacturing standards for automobile industry

ISO have launched ISO/ASTM AWI 52945 standard for 3D printed parts of Automotive industry. The standard covers all the critical parts of quality such as machine quality, orientation and key performance indicators.

Mitsubishi Electrical launched new laser based DED 3D printer

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that on March 1 it will release two models of the “AZ600” wire-laser metal 3D printer, which melts welding wire with a laser beam to create high-quality 3D structures.

Fehrmann Alloys appoints Mahendran Reddy and Stefan Ritt to management team

Fehrmann alloys has expanded its leadership with the appointment of two vice presidents: Mahendran Reddy and Stefan Ritt

3D Systems to Expand Healthcare Applications Portfolio with Acquisition of Kumovis

3D Systems today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Kumovis, a Munich, Germany-based additive manufacturing solutions provider for personalized healthcare applications. Kumovis’ solutions are built upon their unique extrusion technology specifically developed for precision printing of medical-grade, high-performance polymers such as PEEK.

Technical University of Munich, Oerlikon, GE Additive and Linde to establish additive manufacturing cluster in Bavaria

The Technical University of Munich (TUM), Oerlikon, GE Additive and Linde are collaborating to create an additive manufacturing cluster. This cluster is a grouping of companies and organizations that will conduct research on and develop additive manufacturing technology from a single hub location. The news was released by the company media.

A NSAM has been evolved to mitigate immediate disabilities of the local industries to embrace digital technologies and to cater nation’s aspiration of Manufacturing Value addition to US$ 1 Trillion per annum.

9T Labs raises USD 17 million to accelerate advanced carbon composite manufacturing

Composite equipment and software OEM 9T Labs closed its Series A funding round and raised USD 17 million. The news was released by the company media.
