Sailors aboard the Virginia-class attack submarine USS Texas prepare to depart Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after critical repairs and system upgrades. As the Navy works to enhance fleet readiness and extend the service life of submarines like Texas, APL researchers are partnering with the Naval Sea Systems Command to advance additive manufacturing processes — such as laser powder bed fusion — to deliver consistent, mission-ready components and reduce logistics delays across the fleet.

Lithoz GmbH, world market leaders in ceramic 3D printing, has recently entered production in their newest site in Vienna

They recently dispatched the first shipment of a ceramic 3d printer from their new second production site in Vienna, Austria. This second production facility combines greatly increased capacity, efficient warehousing and a new level of quality management

With this being their fourth location worldwide after their headquarters in Vienna and bases in America and China, the company’s production capabilities have now greatly expanded and this new XL hub will make Lithoz’s logistic performance more efficient than ever.

Lithoz’s new central warehouse ensures a much quicker turnaround of orders thanks to a scalable production and expanded storage capacity for raw materials. A monitored production environment (comparable to ISO 8 clean room level) and a central quality assurance laboratory provide the best possible quality control throughout every step of the manufacture process.

The new centralized logistic hub and the investment into new infrastructure and expanded capacities is a key success factor of Lithoz’s growth strategy, providing faster and more professionalized quality management as well as scalable logistic chain processes.

Dr. Daniel Bomze, the project leader, looks forward to better supporting Lithoz customers worldwide from this new XL hub: “During the planning and implementation of this new production site, we focused on sustainability, scalability and reliability. We are ready and extremely well prepared for meeting the fast growing demand of our customers.”
