3D Printed Titanium Implant Helps Man Regain Mobility
Various stakeholders including AIIMS, CSIO, Global Health Care and Auxein Healthcare came together and made it possible for a successful 3D Printing Titamium Implant which helped a 39 year old man regain mobility. The process included coverting the CT scan to a printable file, followed by bone models with implant were printed by FFF, final approval and printing implant in EOS Titanium Ti54ELI, Some post processing to ensure a perfect fit. The whole project was brought together and reported by Sanjay Pathak from Global Health Care.
Jaipur’s SMS Hospital introduces 3D printing to treat Oral cancer patients
Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital, one of the major hospitals in Jaipur, India, will soon treat oral cancer patients using 3D printing technology. The new medical and research facility will be opened at the SMS Hospital affiliated Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College.
Researchers from IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur 3D Bioprinted Load Bearing Bones
Researchers from IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur have used a different approach to mimic the development biology pathway by which adult load-bearing bones are formed. The researchers made the stem cells to first differentiate into cartilage, and the cartilage was then converted into bones. The bones tissue engineered showed more similarity to limb skeleton development seen inside the body.

Chennai Scientists Grew 3D Printed Implantable Ears
Research by a group of Indian scientists, from SIMS Hospital and SRM University, Chennai, resulted in successfully growing a 3D printed implantable ear. These scientists stated that they used this technique to 3D print cartilage which continues to survive and grow normally in rabbits. The Indian scientists dedicated more than two years to this research and achieved positive results. This granted them permission to continue their experiments.
