Additive Manufacturing Industry News review by AM Chronicle from last week includes €15 million funding to 3D printing start up DyeMansion, live demonstration of construction 3D printing at World of Concrete convention by COBOD, Collaboration between ZHO and Spentys, acquisition of Laser Cladding Venture by SKF, Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association grows up to 40 members and IKEA experimentation with 3D printed meatballs.

On 18-20 January at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the World of Concrete convention, COBOD International, together with materials provider QUIKRETE and Arizona 3D builder & developer printed Homes 3D-printed building structures in front of large live crowds for 3 days in a row at the World of Concrete show. World of Concrete is the world’s largest convention for concrete and construction with approx. 37,000 attendees and 1,100 vendors in 2022.

3D Printing startup Dye Mansion raises €15 million from EIB and EIC

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Innovation Council (EIC) are investing €11 million and €4 million, respectively, into innovative startup DyeMansion. With this EU funding, DyeMansion will secure its long-term development as a company providing post-processing solutions for industrial polymer 3-D printing.

Zayed Higher organization collaborates with Spentys for 3D-printed orthoses

Zayed higher organization for people with determination (ZHO) signs on Spentys, an innovation leader in 3D orthopedic solutions based in Belgium at the Dubai Expo 2022 as their official partner to deploy 3D-printed orthoses manufacturing in the UAE.

Optomec announced the receipt of a $1.2c5 Million order for a production Metal Additive Manufacturing machine for the maintenance of industrial gas turbine components in the Middle East.

SKF acquires additive manufacturing company

SKF has completed the acquisition of Laser Cladding Venture n.v. (LCV), an additive manufacturing company based in Belgium. LCV is a niche engineering start-up specialized in various additive manufacturing technologies and processes, which can be applied to support SKF’s service and remanufacturing offering.

Team at MIT creates 3D objects that change their appearance from different viewpoints

Research Team at MIT developed a 3D printing technology that can enable flickering 3D printed objects that are similar as flickering birthday card or flowers. The technology will add new avenues to the 3D printing technology.

AMGTA Grows to 40 Members and Announces Höganäs as a New Founding Member

The Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA), a global trade organization created to promote the environmental benefits of additive manufacturing (AM), announced today that five additional leading AM companies have joined the trade group to advance sustainability in AM, bringing its active membership ranks to 40 members. IKEA experiments with 3D-printed meatballs

As part of a new data and technology recruiting effort, IKEA is inviting candidates with creativity to a job interview over experimental 3D-printed meatballs. Throughout Europe, the company will establish more than 150 technology and innovation positions by 2022. As a result, it is looking for people who share its beliefs and vision: to make everyday life better for the many people. IKEA official released this news.

Anisoprint and Sedaxis announce an exclusive partnership to grow carbon fiber 3D printing in India

To accelerate the adoption of 3D printing with continuous fiber-reinforced composites globally, Anisoprint is now exclusively distributing its 3D printing systems and patented technology via Sedaxis.
