[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There was plenty of noise coming out of the metal additive manufacturing players yesterday on the opening day of formnext powered by tct. With the launch of GE’s new platform, Additive Industries’ new module, XJet’s Carmel systems it would be easy to forget that although trade shows are a great place to launch technologies the main point is to sell machinery.
According to SLM Solutions, they’ve killed both those particular birds with one stone, and the celebrations could be heard long into the night as the Lübeck, Germany based company reported the sale of 20 machines to an Asian energy company.
The sale is said to be in the region of €37m and includes 20 machines of the newly launched SLM 800 series and one SLM 280 machine.
This sale is not the first time SLM has reported strong sales into Asia; back in September, the company reported the largest ever single order in its history with the sale of 50 SLM 280 machines into China.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
