The largest 3D-printed boat in Qatar has been successfully constructed at the GORD 3D Center, located within the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP). The 5-meter-long vessel was completed on April 24, 2025, after a two-week high-tech printing process.
GORD 3D utilized its advanced Extrusion Deposition Modeling (EDM) process, featuring a robotic arm, to create the boat. This method involves meticulously laying down melted material layer by layer to build strong, yet lightweight, components. For this project, a specialized polymer combined with carbon fiber (PPCF) was used, ensuring the boat’s durability and resilience in challenging sea conditions.

The process began with a detailed digital design, tailored to the client’s specifications and optimized for maritime performance. The robotic arm then precisely printed the boat’s complex hull, minimizing material waste and enhancing efficiency compared to traditional boat-building techniques. Following printing, the sections were carefully finished and assembled, transforming the printed layers into a robust and seaworthy vessel.
GORD 3D highlights that this innovative approach significantly reduces production time and allows for rapid modifications and improvements. The company expressed its pride in leading the way in fast, flexible, and eco-friendly boat manufacturing through cutting-edge 3D printing technology.
