Neutrogena today has announced a new collaboration with Nourished, a developer of 3D-printed supplements, that expands the skin care brand’s reach into ingestible skin health.
Nourished x Neutrogena Skin360 SkinStacks leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D-printing technology to create on-demand dietary supplements. The mass market skincare giant, part of Johnson & Johnson, is unveiling the concept this week at CES in Las Vegas.
“At Neutrogena, we are grounded in the belief that beauty begins with healthy skin and are proud of a heritage that consistently delivers skincare solutions built at the intersection of science and technology, in a way that makes sophisticated science simple and inclusive for our consumers,” said Roberto Khoury, SVP, Neutrogena. “Working with Nourished allows us to further that commitment by marrying our award-winning digital skin assessment with Nourished elegant 3D printing technology to create on-demand dietary supplements to help consumers meet their personal skincare goals.”
Nourished x Neutrogena Skin360 SkinStacks created through Neutrogena’s Skin360 digital skin assessment, which uses more than 100,000 skin pixels to analyze over 2,000 facial attributes and consumers’ skin needs and goals. The data is then used to identify and recommend a nutrient stack and topical routine for the individual user to help achieve their specific skin health goal. Once the order is placed, the supplements are developed using proprietary 3D-printing technology by combining seven layers of ingredients into one vegan, sugar-free gummy stack.
At the Nourished x Neutrogena Skin360 SkinStacks website, consumers then use the Neutrogena Skin360 digital skin assessment to scan and take a picture of their face. Skin360 then recommends a personalized Skinstacks based on consumers’ individual skin health goal— Ageless, Clear, Hydrate, Glow or Resilient—with seven layers of vitamins and nutrients. Consumers are then redirected to purchase through the Nourished site, where they get to customize their flavor and complete their purchase. Each order is printed by Nourished on demand to ensure freshness and delivered in 100% plastic-free, home compostable packaging. A 28-day supply of personalized is $49.99 and arrives within 14 days of ordering, according to Neutrogena.
Neutrogena unveiled the Skin360 technology at CES in 2018. The skincare brand is part of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, which will soon operate as Kenvue as part of J&J’s decision to create a new standalone consumer healthcare company.
Happi will provide more coverage this week from CES as well as in our February issue.
