MetShape GmbH is a technology start-up based in Pforzheim, Germany which was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from the University of Pforzheim to establish the innovative LMM-technology as a service provider and to make the additive manufacturing process for metal precision parts available for industrial applications. The start-up focused explicitly on the second production step of the indirect additive manufacturing technology, the debinding and sintering which demonstrates the key know-how for every sinter-based additive manufacturing technology. As a sintering expert, MetShape is developing very dynamically and already managed to establish a customer base in several industries such as in the medical technology, luxury, and jewellery as well as the mechanical engineering and metal processing industry.
With its unique approach and know-how regarding sinter-based metal manufacturing for high-precision small and micro parts, MetShape was able to convince the jury as well as decision-makers, investors engineers, industry experts, and other visitors of the Metal Additive Manufacturing Conference 2022.
Their article about how MetShape is able to simplify the process chain of Metal Additive Manufacturing by avoiding costly post-processing and delivering superior parts that can go directly into application convinced the jury to select MetShape as one of the three start-ups that were able to pitch their business at the conference. At the event, MetShape’s CEO Dr Andreas Baum and Mike Schimmelpfennig as head of sales represented MetShape and were able to display the importance of its unique sintering know-how which is responsible for the efficient and high-quality manufacturing of small and micro metal parts that do not require costly post-processing.
To receive the Metal Additive Manufacturing Award on an internationally recognized stage fulfils the team of MetShape with pride and motivates them to further work passionately and with full engagement on their goals to add further sinter-based technologies to their portfolio and to offer their customers the highest flexibility in the manufacturing of their exclusive applications.
