Kaiser Aluminum Corporation has announced the acquisition of additive manufacturing and machining firm Imperial Machine & Tool Co. of Columbia, New Jersey.
Imperial Machine & Tool adds expertise in working a wide variety of materials, including aluminium, titanium, tantalum, molybdenum, nickel alloys, tungsten, cobalt chromium, and stainless steel. The firm operates from a 30,000 ft2 facility in New Jersey in addition to 40 satellite CNC machining centers. Among Imperial’s most recent additions is that of a Metal Additive Manufacturing through Powder Bed Fusion (3D Metal Printing) service, marked by the firm’s acquisition of a SLM 280 HL in 2013. A second SLM machine was added to Imperial’s arsenal two years later.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
