Formlabs announced the acquisition of Micronics, a dynamic 3D printing startup renowned for its groundbreaking Kickstarter campaign, which generated significant interest and support for its desktop SLS printer, the Micron.
Henry Chan and Luke Boppart, the innovative founders of Micronics, will be joining Formlabs to contribute their extensive knowledge and creativity to the development of the next generation of accessible SLS 3D printers. Their expertise will be a valuable addition to our esteemed team of engineers and designers.
As part of this acquisition, the Micronics team will be canceling their Kickstarter campaign and refunding all backers. To show our appreciation for the support of Micronics backers, we are offering a $1,000 credit to use towards the purchase of any current or future Formlabs printer, along with a free Open Materials License.
