German additive manufacturing specialist AMCM GmbH has reached a key production milestone by delivering its 150th metal‑3D‑printing system—an M 4K outfitted with four 1 kW lasers—to a space‑industry customer in California. The unit will expand the customer’s existing fleet of M 4K machines to produce CuCr1Zr combustion chambers for demanding aerospace applications .
The M 4K platform boasts a generous build volume of 450 × 450 × 1,000 mm and maintains full compatibility with legacy EOS M 400‑x process parameters, ensuring identical focus and beam quality. Powder handling can be configured for manual or semi‑automatic operation, and the system features open software for high‑power laser process optimization, together with SmartCAL‑assisted calibration and overlap adjustment tools .
