Additive Plus, a U.S.-based additive manufacturing solutions provider, has introduced AO Metal, its first in-house developed line of compact metal 3D printers. The product family—comprising the A30, A50, and A100 models—is engineered to meet the needs of labs, universities, and small production teams seeking high-performance metal printing in a compact, affordable package.
“Hands-on access to metal 3D printing shouldn’t require a six-figure investment,” said Ashkhen Ovsepyan, Founder and CEO of Additive Plus. “We built AO Metal to support researchers, universities, and small-scale innovators who are pushing material boundaries but need tools that fit their space and budget.”
Each AO Metal system supports open process parameters, giving users full control over laser power, scan strategies, and thermal management—key for material research, alloy development, and prototyping. A unique laser setup, with infrared and blue laser options, allows for printing traditionally difficult materials like copper, gold, and high-entropy alloys, providing unmatched material flexibility at this scale.
