Additive Manufacturing in Saudi Arabia has been slow to pick up. However with a push from the Kingdom to localise advanced manufacturing and promote Industry 4.0 in line with ‘Vision2030’ and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), there is a step change in momentum of Industrial Additive Manufacturing in the region.
Oil & Gas is one of the largest industry sectors in Saudi Arabia. Additive manufacturing can provide a natural advantage to the local industry, by allowing them to reduce lead time by localizing production on-demand and decreasing spare parts costs by creating digital inventories and manufacturing parts on demand.
In a recent positive development for Additive Manufacturing in Saudi Arabia, Namthaja, one of the pioneers in the 3D printing services market in GCC based in Saudi Arabia since 2015, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alkhorayef Petroleum Company to strengthen their cooperation to manufacture components of diaphragm pumps using Additive Manufacturing.
“This collaboration has resulted in an unprecedented achievement of 3D printing in the oil and gas field that we are proud of, proud of this cooperation with Alkhorayef Petroleum Company and proud of the achievements of our team” said Faisal Alamer, Founder, Namthaja.
In a MOU signing ceremony by Alkhorayef Petroleum Company, Namthaja signed a MOU to further their collaboration in 3D printing ESP components. This is an achievement and a milestone for Additive Manufacturing in Saudi Arabia and the oil and gas sector.
