ABB Robotics Unveils Ultra Accuracy Feature for GoFa Cobots

ABB Robotics has introduced its latest innovation, Ultra Accuracy, a new feature for the GoFa cobot family that delivers unprecedented precision. This breakthrough provides over 10 times greater path accuracy compared to other cobots on the market, catering to industries where exact positioning is crucial for product quality and efficiency.

“As automation becomes essential for improving product quality and meeting tighter tolerances, robots with exceptional precision are in high demand,” said Andrea Cassoni, Global Head of Collaborative Robots at ABB Robotics. “With GoFa’s Ultra Accuracy, businesses in electronics, automotive, aerospace, and metal fabrication can now achieve superior performance with the simplicity, safety, and flexibility that our cobots are known for.”

The Ultra Accuracy feature is ideal for tasks requiring meticulous precision, such as gluing in electronics, laser welding in automotive, composite layering in aerospace, and precision cutting in metal fabrication. It also enhances 3D printing prototype accuracy and enables high-precision quality checks in metrology applications.

GoFa’s compact design ensures easy integration into existing production lines without costly modifications. Its 6D motion capability across the entire workspace and pre-factory calibration eliminates the need for additional setup, offering a seamless, ready-to-use solution. Combined with ABB’s RobotStudio software, GoFa cobots provide an efficient programming environment with a 99% match between simulation and real-world performance.

Ultra Accuracy is now available for both new and existing GoFa cobots, offering manufacturers a path to greater precision and operational efficiency.
