The CoE, a cutting-edge facility in Kolkata, was created by Fujisoft Vara Private Limited, a joint venture between Fujisoft Inc., Japan, and Vara Technology, India. It is India’s first platform that harnesses the full scope of Industry 4.0 technologies to power industries through innovation, incubation, and developing future-ready talent, delivering an unrivaled value proposition through collaboration with the world’s finest institutions and knowledge organizations.
The CoE has teamed with Stratasys, one of the world’s top 3D equipment manufacturing companies, to establish a state-of-the-art 3D Printing facility with seven industrial grade machines, the first of its type in the country’s eastern region. The machines are capable of prints similar as 3D Printed Maa Saraswati statue.
Corporates and SMEs may use the CoE’s 3D consulting, design, and printing services to quickly turn their ideas into reality. The high number of industrial grade machinery accessible at the CoE enables batch production capabilities. The CoE provides a range of courses to teach young graduate engineers and professionals in all elements of additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and design. The courses in the CoE provide students with industry verified certification and the skill set that is most relevant and in-demand, with certification from Stratasys and Dassault Systemes.
“Our clients come from automotive, consumer products, aerospace and defense, healthcare (dental and medical as well as medical devices), sanitary ware, oil and gas, IoT and electronics, electricals, industrial production sectors, among others,” said Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Head, Webel Fujisoft Vara Centre of Excellence: Industry 4.0. Since its inception, the CoE has experienced a continuous growth in demand for 3D Printing services.”
3D printing is being utilized in a variety of industries in India, including automotive, consumer items, aerospace and military, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing, among others. The focus and attempts to expand domestic production through the Make in India Campaign, the rise in demand for lean manufacturing, and the rising penetration of 3D Printing across many industries will accelerate its growth ahead.
Dr. Rashmi Sharma went on to say, “The quick and exponential growth in demand for 3D Printing services will also witness a dramatic surge in demand for experts educated in 3D production and design abilities.” This sector offers enormous promise for recent engineering graduates and design students. What is now a fledgling technology will become mainstream in a very short period of time. In most manufacturing industries, 3D printing will be an integral aspect of prototype, design, and production. This is an excellent moment to hone your skills and experience in this area in order to be well-positioned as the need for specialists grows.”
The CoE collaborates with enterprises to create people, products, processes, and technology. It brings together government, academia, graduate students, professionals, start-ups, leading industry organizations, and technology providers to a) generate relevant skills for Industry 4.0, b) assist organizations in transforming to be future-ready, c) connect MSMEs to a global partner, d) network, e) work with start-ups to turn ideas into businesses, and f) conduct R&D. The CoE has collaborated with major technology suppliers, universities, start-up ecosystems, technology experts, and academics from across the world, resulting in a deep understanding of developing talent and offering unique solutions for students, MSMEs, corporates, and start-ups.
