National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM), the nodal body for Additive Manufacturing in India signed an MOU with Materialise NV develop a self-sustainable Additive Manufacturing ecosystem in India.
NCAM and Materialise NV were represented by Mr. Jaspreet Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer, NCAM and Fried Vancraen, Founder and CEO, Materialise NV respectively for the MOU signing on 6th February 2023 at the Radisson Bengaluru City Centre. The MOU ceremony was attended by close to 20 senior industry leaders from Additive manufacturing ecosystem in India.
In the MOU, both organizations agree to work towards a long-term vision to develop self-sustainable ecosystem of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in the country by enabling the adoption of AM in the industry, prototyping new products and focusing on new product development, providing access to state of art infrastructure, finding, supporting, and scaling innovative and impactful technological solutions in Additive Manufacturing.
Areas of cooperation outlined in the MOU
- Co-Creation of new applications / use cases in India.
- Start Up Incubation.
- Training programs and skill development initiatives for Additive Manufacturing technology focused on software.
On the same day of the signing, Fried Vancraen had an industry dialogue with a select group of senior industry leaders with interests in creating business resilience and impact with Additive Manufacturing technology.
Fried presented the topic “Digital Transformation with Open data-driven AdditiveManufacturing” and the discussion centered around the challenges of scaling up Additive Manufacturing especially in the post-pandemic era, and how the industry could work together in an open data-driven ecosystem to transform the Additive Manufacturing landscape in India
