Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in women and the second most common cancer overall and more than 2 million women every year are diagnosed with Breast Cancer the world over. Awareness about prevention, diagnosis and cure of the ailment has increased considerably over the past few years, however the after effects of mastectomy are largely unaddressed.

Prayasta is addressing this need to improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients by developing an Additive Manufacturing Technology to manufacture personalised implants.

About Vikas Garg
Vikas is one of the two co founders of Prayasta and also the brain behind it. He is trained as a material scientist from one of the premier material institutes in India and at the same time, also bitten by the entrepreneurship bug. He worked on various medical devices such as retinal implants, dialysis machine and also corneal implants; before Shilpi Sen and he started their own venture Prayasta in 2017. Prayasta has developed its own additive manufacturing technology for elastomers, especially implant grade silicone, which they plan to use for bringing one-to-one personalization to the soft tissue implants.
