3DEO, Inc., a metal 3D printed part provider based in Los Angeles, has announced it is increasing its production capability over twofold for the first quarter of 2019. The expansion for 3DEO comes as a response to greater customer demand, with the company experiencing significant growth in 2018, its second full year of operation.

Matt Petros, CEO and co-founder of 3DEO, stated “We are very proud of what we accomplished in 2018 working hand-in-hand with end-use customers. We are also very excited for what’s to come in 2019.”

“BY MANY KEY MANUFACTURING AND CUSTOMER METRICS, 3DEO’S TECHNOLOGY IS SETTING THE STANDARD FOR SERIAL PRODUCTION METAL 3D PRINTING.”

Intelligent Layering Technology for 3D printing metal parts

3DEO is an on demand manufacturer of stainless steel parts in low – medium volumes. The technology used to make the parts is a proprietary Intelligent Layering Technology. The company claims this patented metal 3D printing method is able to reduce final part cost, enabling high volume metal additive manufacturing while meeting the industry benchmark MPIF Standard 35, the standard for Metal Injection Molding.

Throughout 2018, 3DEO 3D printed over 30,000 paid parts, distributing them to customers across various industries, including medical, aerospace and consumer.

The company has now secured two more customer production for 2019, comprising 24,000 pieces and 28,000 pieces each.

“3DEO’s production metal 3D printing technology is proving itself to be highly scalable and robust,” comments Marty McGough, the recently-appointed COO and head of quality at 3DEO, Inc.

“IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL WITH SERIAL PRODUCTION, PART-TO-PART AND MACHINE-TO-MACHINE REPEATABILITY IS PARAMOUNT. IN MANY WAYS 3DEO’S TECHNOLOGY IS UNIQUELY CAPABLE IN THE INDUSTRY OF METAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING.”

High volume metal additive manufacturing

In Q1 2019, 3DEO has made plans to bring in a further 12 Intelligent Layering Technology machines to supplement its current 8 metal AM systems.

Other additive companies recently expanding to meet demand include GE Additive’s metal 3D printing powder production arm AP&C and metal AM systems developer TRIDITIVE, which has welcomed Elnik Systems to its SCALADD consortium to help expand the adoption of mass metal additive manufacturing.
