Having already solidified its position as a global market leader earlier in the year, the notable surge in sales underscores the sustained and robust expansion of the company. A key focus for Lithoz in the preceding year was the introduction of the ‘Ceramic AM Factory,’ utilizing their Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM) 3D printers for large-scale industrial production. The majority of these machines were acquired by partners deploying multiple Lithoz printers, highlighting the significant role of serial production in contributing to the company’s successful outcomes in 2023.
Dr. Johannes Homa, CEO of Lithoz, emphasized the establishment of interconnected machine parks as a driver for the growth of serial production in ceramic 3D printing. Collaborating closely with customers, the company is dedicated to scaling up operations for mass production, with one partner achieving an impressive production rate of over one million parts per year.
In addition to serial production efforts, Lithoz has concentrated on building a comprehensive portfolio of ceramic 3D printing solutions, adopting an ‘all from one source’ approach. This strategy proved fruitful in the previous year, with investments in technologies such as Laser-Induced Slipcasting, LSD-Print, and multi-material manufacturing via AMAREA Technology.
Looking ahead to 2024, Lithoz aims to further support the expansion of ceramic 3D printing by enhancing the global presence and capabilities of service bureaus. Through the establishment of machine parks and the diversification of its ceramic 3D printing solutions, Lithoz aims to advance the Ceramic AM Factory for serial mass production and promote innovation in industrial applications.
In a noteworthy collaboration from the previous year, Lithoz and ORNL entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, concentrating on the development of 3D printed non-oxide ceramics tailored for extreme temperature applications.
