The Indian 3D Printing Network had the privilege of being present for the live demonstration of the first HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printer in India held at the Imaginarium premises in Mumbai. We think that this is an important step forward for the 3D Printing industry and community in India. Mr Aditya Chandavarkar, Co-Founder, Indian 3D Printing Network had a conversation with Alex Lalumiere, Director, APJ Client Sales for 3D Printing, HP Asia Pacific on the side lines of the launch event at Imaginarium.

Aditya Chandavarkar: How does HP technology fit into the current AM scenario in India ?

Alex Lalumiere: HP brings a manufacturing focus for completely transforming Additive manufacturing

and believes that the 5 pillars of their technology are Quality, Price, Speed, Support and Reliability. Since the MJF technology is a production technology the need for quality support and reliability are paramount and HP with its established base in India with its existing successful Inkjet business is ready to provide an unmatched customer service and support to the market. We also believe that this technology will help in supporting the government plans to boost manufacturing in India and Make in India.

AC: What can we expect from the HP and Imaginarium collaboration in 2018 ?

AL: First of all let me tell you that we are quite impressed with approach at Imaginarium to always stay ahead of the curve and innovate at all stages. Our aim is to jointly promote this cutting edge technology to both both small and large companies, alike to further the growth of AM in India. The idea is to combine the technology expertise at HP and the unique problem solving ability of  Imaginarium to provide customised solutions. We look forward to a great year in India for Additive Manufacturing.
