Leading additive and machining technology products and service provider Phillips Machine Tools announces partnership with 3D printer OEM Meltio to power India’s additive manufacturing capabilities.
Bengaluru, India: Phillips Machine Tools – a leading provider of additive and machining technologies– will be debuting its partnership with Meltio, a Wire-Laser Metal 3D printing OEM, at IMTEX 2023, taking place at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from January 19th to 25th.
While the two companies have been collaborating in the USA for over a year, they have expanded their partnership to extend their joint offerings to the Indian market. In addition to Meltio’s innovative product range, Phillips Corporation’s cutting-edge platform, the Phillips Additive Hybrid, will also be available to manufacturers in the country. It combines the processes of additive and subtractive by integrating Meltio’s modular 3D printing cell, the Meltio Engine, and Haas Automation’s standard subtractive CNC machine technology. By combining traditional manufacturing with Direct Energy Deposition (DED) 3D printing technology, the Phillips Additive Hybrid is a unique means of providing an efficient, affordable process to produce and repair parts.
In addition to the Phillips Additive Hybrid, the Meltio M450 Wire DED Printer is another product expected to revolutionize the nation’s engineering capabilities. A metal 3D printer that boasts of reliability, safety, and ease of use without burning a hole in one’s pocket, the M450 is ideal to fabricate small parts and for multi-metal 3D printing research. The two technologies are especially ideal for R&D, aerospace, defence, and tool rooms.
Speaking on this development, Mr. Yogendra Srivastava, Product Manager- Phillips Additive shared “Phillips is now able to drive the digital transformation on how products are built. Our partnerships with industry leading technology manufacturer Meltio, will be an offering to enterprises that will accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing technologies and will help revolutionize the technology across the horizon. “Meltio’s additive technologies complete the Phillips Additive offering and embody the Phillips way: bringing unique, innovative manufacturing advantages to Indian R&D and machine shops, thereby helping Indian manufacturers achieve global competitiveness.” he elaborates.”
The partnership will also further benefit Phillips customers, who have access to Phillips Additive Labs. In addition to the additive and subtractive experts, demo equipment for trials, training, and more, they will now also be able to experience Meltio’s future-forward additive technology, with Phillips experts to guide customers on identifying parts and solve engineering problems that their additive technologies can address in the most economical, practical way.
Luis Carlos Molinero, India Channel Sales Manager, Meltio adds, “We are thrilled to be working with Phillips India, as this partnership serves as a great indicator of how Meltio’s partner ecosystem is evolving. Together with Phillips, we are now able to bring an end-to-end solution to customers that require hybrid manufacturing capabilities in India.”
