Woodside Energy Ltd has signed an agreement with 3D Metalforge (3DMF) to supply additively manufactured parts, production technologies and digital part library development services.

The two-year agreement, to produce metallic additively manufactured components made via powder bed fusion (PBF) and direct energy deposition (DED) will be used in Woodside-operated facilities, and support Woodside’s operational supply chain with replacement parts on a shorten lead time compared to traditional resources. 3D Metalforge will provide the rapid production of parts, and reduces operational risk and local inventory holdings, with a more certain cost horizon and improved sustainability.

3D Metalforge is a AM company that supports cutting-edge companies with their global metal printing requirements, 3D Metalforge’s hi-tech facility and engineering teams are based in Singapore and Houston, TX with a service office in Perth, W. Australia. They have some of the most advanced 3D printing equipment including Selective Laser Melting and a new one of a kind LAAM printer that can produce high quality metal parts up to 1.5metres in size, and at a speed of up to 750g/hour.
