The high-tech company TRUMPF is expanding its dental and medical business in the Additive Manufacturing division in Italy
As announced last year, the Ditzingen-based company has completely taken over the joint venture TRUMPF SISMA s.r.l. from its Italian partner SISMA s.p.a. at the end of 2021. TRUMPF previously held 55 percent of the shares. TRUMPF will continue SISMA’s LMF (Laser Metal Fusion) business in the industrial, dental, and medical markets.
The previous joint venture will be renamed TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing Italia s.r.l. and will remain headquartered in Schio, northern Italy. There, around 60 employees work in the development and production of metal 3D printing machines with Laser Metal Fusion technology.
Simultaneously with the sale of the joint venture and its own LMF division, SISMA plans to focus on the jewelry and fashion industries in the future and distribute LMF machines from TRUMPF for these markets.
