Sinterit announced a partnership with Forward AM, the brand of BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH, to jointly develop the compact SLS segment and industrial applications.

Sinterit, the leader in the compact SLS 3D printing segment, announced a successful partnership with Forward AM, the brand of BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH . The cooperation between companies is dedicated to jointly developing the compact SLS segment with related materials and hardware, as well as industrial applications.

This collaboration is a natural consequence of the growth of SLS 3D printing technology, especially the compact segment, which was created by Sinterit with their first printer – Lisa. The compact segment was a missing link between costly, but professional SLS technology, and less precise technologies available for small and medium-sized companies.

It took several years to build that segment, but meanwhile Sinterit decided to enter the industrial segment with NILS 480. This SLS 3D printer, with a big (200 x 200 x 330 mm) printing volume is dedicated to companies which are looking for ROI and flexibility. Entering the industrial segment and strengthening cooperation with Forward AM will speed up the work on introducing many new materials to the market.

Forward AM is intensively developing new innovative materials tailored for the use in SLS technology. The production of dedicated materials for specific devices is part of the strategy of making functional 3D powder materials widely and affordably accessible, starting from small scale entry-level to big scale industrial use. Cooperation with Sinterit on plug&play system solutions is meant to creatively open new applications.

A prerequisite for a large increase in the potential of this technology is new applications that can be opened by materials. In cooperation with BASF Forward AM materials, Sinterit will introduce work-ready materials with the Lisa and NILS lines.
