Lore Cycle launches ‘world’s most advanced’ 3D-printed shoe

Lore Cycle has unveiled its latest innovation in the cycling world: the LoreTwo shoe, which the company claims is the “world’s most advanced cycling shoe.” Each shoe is custom made using 3D-printing technology with either nylon or carbon materials, tailored precisely to the rider’s foot for optimal fit and biomechanical efficiency.

Custom Manufacturing Process

Each LoreTwo shoe is crafted based on detailed scans of the rider’s foot. This process has evolved from its predecessor, the LoreOne, which required a foot scan via an app. Now, for the LoreTwo, customers must visit a retailer for a comprehensive foot scan that takes less than 10 minutes. The scan data is sent to Lore in California, where the shoes are manufactured using revolutionary continuous carbon fiber robotic 3D printing. This method ensures sub-millimeter precision for an unparalleled fit.

Key Features and Design Improvements

Lore has refined the design elements from the LoreOne to enhance performance in the LoreTwo. Key improvements include:

  • Aerodynamics: The new design is more aerodynamic, improving cycling efficiency.
  • Power Transfer and Efficiency: Enhanced to provide better power transfer and eliminate dead spots.
  • Fit and Comfort: The precision of the fit has been improved for greater comfort and biomechanical efficiency.

Models and Pricing

The LoreTwo range includes three models:

  1. LoreTwo Mid Carbon ($1,849): Features a patent-pending dorsal upper panel that stretches higher towards the ankle, offering greater support and performance benefits.
  2. LoreTwo Low Carbon ($1,649): A lower design than the Mid Carbon, still utilizing carbon for superior performance.
  3. LoreTwo Low Nylon ($1,349): The entry-level model, using nylon for affordability while maintaining high performance standards.

Lore Cycle’s LoreTwo represents a significant advancement in cycling footwear, pushing the boundaries of fit, performance, and efficiency through innovative use of 3D printing technology. The company continues to set new standards in the cycling industry, providing custom, high-performance shoes that cater to the specific needs of each rider.
