Indo MIM Pvt. Ltd, a leading global supplier of Metal Injection Molded products and an indigenous manufacturer of Metal Additive Manufacturing powders in India has successful received certification for their IN 718 Metal alloy powder for Additive Manufacturing by Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC)
CEMILAC is a regulatory body under DRDO, vested with the responsibility of Airworthiness certification of military Aircraft, Helicopter, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Aero-engines, Air launched weapons and other Airborne stores.
This is another step towards building an indigenous Additive Manufacturing ecosystem with now INDO-MIM Private Limited manufacturing Indias first 3D printable Nickel 718 powder certified for airworthiness by CEMILAC. This development also provides the much needed confidence to the various Indian defence organisations to procure indigenously manufactured IN 718 metal powders for their requirements and work towards an indigenous and self reliant supply chain .
Intech Additive Solutions, an indigenous manufacturer of Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines also played an important role by supporting this certifcation process and their support was important to achieve this important milestone.
The event took place on 25th April 2022, at the Doddaballapur facility of Indo MIM Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of Shri APVS Prasad, CE-CEMILAC, Shri Shirish Kale, GD-F&F, CEMILAC, Shri Dhanesh V. Bhangale, ADG(SZ), DGAQA , Dr Ram Prabhu, Scientist E, CEMILAC, Mr I Ahmed, Director, DGAQA, Mr Ligampalli Prasad, PScO, Mr V Prasad, Mr Raghavendra and Mr Praveen from RCMA(F&F), management team from INDO MIM Pvt. Ltd. and other stakeholders from the industry.
