The Incubation Centre of RRCAT and IIT Indore in collaboration have launched “Certificate Course on Additive Manufacturing: Principle, Technologies & Applications”. The course offers 48 hours of extensive learning and one week immersion program with hand-on experience in the IIT-Indore and RRCAT additive manufacturing labs.
About the Course
Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology has potential to transform next generation manufacturing through expanding the design freedom, reducing time to market, bringing production closure to demand and improving the industrial sustainability. To keep the pace with rapid growth of AM technology globally, Indian Government (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) has launched a national strategy on Additive Manufacturing and well-recognized the contribution of Laser AM activity of RRCAT. The aim of National Strategy on AM is to create a conducive eco-system for design, development, and deployment of AM technology in the country at different scales. In these series, many Faculty Development and High Skill Research Program are being organized by various agencies/ institutes. These programs are limited to PG students, PhD scholars, and faculty members. However, there is a need to create not only awareness, but also to provide a quick walkthrough of various aspects of AM technologies through a formal program. As one of the objectives of Incubation Centre established by DAE is to create awareness by conducting events and inspirational programs including workshops and courses with hands-on experience. Hence, a Certificate Course on “Additive Manufacturing: Principle, Technologies, and Applications” is jointly being organized by Incubation Centre-RRCAT (IC-RRCAT) and Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IITI) with a special focus on creating awareness in startups and micro & small industries.
The course will have online teaching sessions of 48 hours (2 lectures of 90 minutes per day for 16 Saturdays) and one-week immersion program to have hands-on experience at AM labs at IITI and RRCAT. Click here for Certificate Course Brochure.
