Fehrmann Alloys GmbH & Co KG, Hamburg, Germany, has appointed Mahendran Reddy to VP – Global Ecosystem Development and Stefan Ritt to VP – Market Development and Communication.

Reddy’s name may be recognised for his establishment of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) in Singapore. As Business Development Director, he was involved in driving the adoption of Additive Manufacturing in the Asian industry and expanding the AM ecosystem thereby initiating joint research projects between industry & academia and the NAMIC Global AM Summit series and outreach programmes.

Reddy commented, “I hope to bring my extensive knowledge of the creative and manufacturing industries in both the private and public sectors in a business environment to accelerate Fehrmann Tech Group’s global presence to position it as a global thought leader in material innovation.”

Since January, when he began his work for Fehrmann, Reddy has released a technical article on the potential of innovative high-performance aluminum alloy in an Indian aluminum trade journal and provided insights into the AM ecosystem in Singapore during a free online event as part of the 3D Printing Tuesday organised by 3D Printing North Network. He was also one of the distinguished speakers at ALCircle EXPO 2022, where he addressed the aluminum industry.

Stefan Ritt, global ambassador for the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG), was appointed to his new role at Fehrmann Tech Group on February 1. In the past, he had worked as an AM expert in equipment technology, software, teaching and standardization. He coordinated all of SLM Group’s global marketing activities and presented what was said to be the first Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion AM machine at an AMUG conference. As European Managing Director of SPEE3D, he introduced another cold spray metal AM technology to the market and in his role as International Business Advisor, he supported clients in expanding global AM and prototyping activities.

“We are moving into a market that is relatively saturated with equipment technology at the moment. In the future, further application possibilities will more likely arise through the use of new materials on existing machines,” Ritt stated. “As an expert in material development in 3D printing and casting with decades of experience, Fehrmann Materials is brilliantly positioned to develop these new materials. Working with materials is now a logical step for me to expand and round up my knowledge through new learning.”
