EOS India concluded their first ever User Day that witnessed a footfall of over 100 industry leaders representing various industry segments.

The insightful and educational conference elucidated the latest AM industry trends (India specific) with a focus on how organizations are employing AM today. Industry leaders from Aerospace, Tooling, Service providers, Automotive and academic Institutions, such as HAL, BEL, CSIO, FET, IIT Kharagpur, Dye Mansion and Materialise along with many others have actively participated and presented their experience on adopting Additive Manufacturing in their business. They also discussed the unique applications of this niche technology in India’s context, future of AM in their industries, benefits, value addition, etc.

With support from our valued customers and partners, the event was a grand success that brought together our home-grown AM experts sharing their opinions on the challenges and learnings while adopting AM. There were a host of interesting debates including a panel discussion, moderated by Dr U Chandrasekar,Sr. Scientist, Academician, Program Director, Addwize (who has close to 34 years of experience in mechanical analysis, experimental stress analysis and additive manufacturing) discussing how organizations can successfully implement this technology in various verticals. The panel had thought leaders from organizations such as Honeywell, Supercraft 3D, Heromotorcorp andWipro 3D. This discussion was followed by an insightful presentation by Dr Vijay Meena, Senior Scientist at Central Scientific Instruments Organization who shed light into how AM is making significant impact on human lives by developing patient specific implants. He also showcased few use cases where they successfully helped trauma victims recover from physical disfigurations in Chandigarh, India.

Lastly, thought leaders such as Dr. CS Kumar, a Post Doctorate from IIT, Kharagpur who shared some interesting facts around their recent research on Additive Manufacturing and upcoming projects on metal-based AM in India. Overall the daylong conference enabled AM experts from various industries exchanging their ideas, forthcoming innovations, the support available for AM adoption to holistically develop the AM ecosystem in India.
