(Erfurt, 10 May 2023). AMTech Expo, India’s largest business networking platform for additive manufacturing, and Rapid.Tech 3D, Germany’s established specialist conference, have agreed on a multi-year cooperation. To this end, both partners signed a corresponding agreement on the opening day of this year’s Rapid.Tech 3D (9 May 2023) at Messe Erfurt. The overarching goal is to work together to advance the AM ecosystems of both countries.

“AMTech Expo is excited to collaborate with Rapid.Tech 3D to build a bridge between the additive manufacturing ecosystems of Germany and India. This collaboration will help us foster knowledge sharing and accelerate the growth of additive manufacturing in both countries,” emphasises Aditya Chandavarkar, co-founder of AMTECH.

“The main concern for both of us is to further advance the use of AM technologies on an industrial scale. By supporting each other as partner events, we are helping to promote the transfer of expertise and technology between the AM communities of India and Germany,” underlines Michael Kynast, Managing Director of Rapid.Tech 3D organiser Messe Erfurt.

According to Wohlers Report 2023, AM products and services continue to experience double-digit growth worldwide. From 2021 to 2022, revenue rose by 18.3 percent to more than $18 billion. Germany is one of the leading markets for additive manufacturing; India one of the emerging international markets.

The Asian subcontinent sees annual growth rates of more than 20 percent. The Indian government has developed a national strategy for the accelerated use of AM technologies in the industrial sector: funded priority areas include applications in the medical, automotive, aerospace and aviation industries. It is also keen to intensify efforts to build partnerships with various companies and institutions working in international business and science. In this respect, AMTech Expo and Rapid.Tech 3D see many jumping off points for a collaboration that serves both countries equally well.
