Bambu Lab, known for its 3D printers, has recently expanded its product offerings by launching Maker’s Supply, an online storefront specializing in non-3D printed components frequently used in 3D printing projects. These components include fasteners, magnets, bearings, hardware, electronics, and tools, essential for completing or enhancing a wide variety of 3D printing projects.
One notable feature of Maker’s Supply is the comprehensive information provided for each component. Users can access detailed dimensions, digital models, installation or assembly instructions, and design guidelines. This approach facilitates a seamless integration of these non-printed parts into 3D printing projects, making the process more efficient for designers and hobbyists.
Additionally, Bambu Lab’s integration between Maker’s Supply and MakerWorld, the company’s 3D model platform, offers a unique benefit. Designers who upload their models to MakerWorld can create a bill of materials (BOM) for their designs, listing all the necessary components. When users download these models, they can conveniently purchase the parts listed in the BOM from Maker’s Supply with a single click, streamlining the workflow from design to assembly.
To encourage creators to participate in the MakerWorld platform, Bambu Lab has introduced a creator incentive program. Although details are still being refined, designers can earn points from the sale of parts associated with their models, providing a potential revenue stream or additional perks within the Bambu Lab ecosystem.
The initial selection of Maker’s Supply products encompasses a wide range of practical and innovative items. From gear motors and hardware to more creative components for projects like a USB-powered marble run, the diversity of parts caters to a broad spectrum of 3D printing enthusiasts. The “Maker Combo Kit” is another highlight, offering a collection of commonly used parts, which can be purchased from the Bambu Store or obtained through MakerWorld’s points shop.
Some of the components featured in Maker’s Supply, such as the wireless mouse components kit and engine model components kit, were previously available as free gifts with A1 Mini pre-orders or sold independently by Bambu Lab. Now, with Maker’s Supply, these items are more broadly accessible, supporting a wider range of projects and applications within the 3D printing community.
