Al Seer Marine, a leading marine organisation in the Arabian maritime region has announced a collaboration with Abu Dhabi Maritime to pioneer additive manufacturing technology / 3D printing in the Maritime Industry.  

The collaboration comes in place for crafting larger maritime platforms using the technology. This innovative project is key for the future of the maritime industry, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in this business.

This partnership is poised to reshape maritime technology, with 3D printing at the heart of making this innovation possible. The  3D printing capabilities at Al Seer Marine empower them to create maritime platforms with intricate designs, setting new standards for precision and complexity. With the expertise at Al Seer they are able to redefine boats efficiency by seamlessly merging lightweight materials with unwavering strength, all while championing sustainability through minimal waste production.

The additive manufacturing facility at Al Seer Marine has a 36-meter-long robotic 3D printer. The printer is called the Mega II and uses a pellet extrusion process to create composite parts. It is capable of printing parts up to 36 meters long, 4 meters wide, and up to 3 meters high. The printer is currently being used to print boat hulls, and molds. Al Seer Marine uses the printer to produce a variety of other marine and industrial components in the future. The Mega II is the largest 3D printer in the world and is a significant development in the field of additive manufacturing.
