On March 5th, 2018, the Additive Manufacturing Association within VDMA will be inviting for a symposium in Frankfurt for AM processing and finishing.
In the industry, additive manufacturing has gained a lot of attention, and more and more companies employ it. The sector is enjoying a growth rate of about 25 percent. The technology promises great potentials in many industrial sectors.
For users and all those interested in employing the technology, it is important to throw a light on the manufacturing process of components as a whole. In the area of postprocessing in particular, experts speak of considerably underrated process steps.
The Additive Manufacturing Association unites representatives of all parts of the process chain under one roof. Thus it seems only logical to have discussions not just about optimized melting processes but also those processes concerning the machine component after the additive process itself.
Representatives of member companies will present possibilities in postprocessing and finishing of additively manufactured components. The focus will be on metal parts. There will be expert presentations on cutting, milling, peripheral layer and surface layer treatment.
