The DNV Singapore’s “AM Demand-Supplier Meet Summit (Digital Inventory Ambition 2024)”, organized on May 5th 2023 saw an exceptional success. The event witnessed the participation of over 90 individuals representing 40+ organizations. The summit was aimed to bring together end-users and local AM ecosystem members, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and insights. It also accomplished its goal of setting the stage for transformative discussions and collaborations.

 

Presentations by OEM such as Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Flowserve Corporation, ThyssenKrupp, voestalpine, and Vallourec, gave an overview of Singapore AM capabilities, adding immense value to the discussions. Top energy leaders such as Equinor, Total Energies, Vår Energi, Woodside Energy, ConocoPhillips, Shell Energy, and ExxonMobil were also part of the event.

 

One of the summit’s highlights was the expression of desire by top energy industry leaders to scale up the production of critical AM components like valves, impellers, valve cages, and more, numbering in the thousands. The discussions and presentations during the summit also helped to bridge technology gaps, identify potential areas of improvement, and build capacity to meet future demands. 

 

Overall, the summit added value by showing active participation by top energy companies and metal additive manufacturing OEM. The event also helped to identify the challenges and business opportunity in energy for metal additive manufacturing.
